Goodbye Arizona...

Once again I am writing this somewhere in the past...

It is not lightly that I bid this state farewell.
Arizona has been my home since I was thirteen give or take a couple of years while we lived in Cali.
It's been a good home despite the horrid summers that seem to last forever.
Winter has always been my favorite season here.
An Arizona winter is like heaven. For example? It was 78 two days ago.
Yeah, heaven in my book.
Then, there are the sunsets.

The cacti (plural for cactus fyi) and the Superstition mountains.

Contrary to popular belief, cowboys do not ride down the middle of Main Street on horses. 

Arizona is quite civilized most of the time unless you go searching for that country twang.

But, in spite of all the beauty here the thing I will miss the most about Arizona are the people.

When we moved here in 1989 I hated it. HATED it. I wanted to go back home. Somehow over the years this state became home. How does that happen? I am thankful for the experiences God has given us here in Arizona. Thankful for the family, for the friends we have here. We will always be close in heart. And, as we turn to a new chapter in our lives in Wyoming I look forward to what God has in store for us there. 

The Nail Files

As most of you may know, we are in the middle of a big move from Arizona to Wyoming. 

So, I am writing this to you from sometime in the past. ;) These nails are actually from this week though so I'm doing good, right?

Here is my latest look:

I used some nail strips for my accent nail. It was my first time using them and had a few boo-boos. I saw this on Lena's blog last week and had to steal it use it as inspiration for my own nails.

"It's OK" Thursday

It's OK...
...that I am sick of doing laundry. I must have done 6 loads in two days.
...that we just got a rental house four days before our move. Whew.
...to both want and not want to see "The Vow" because it will make me so happy & sad at once.
...to be reading Twilight all over again.
...that I am so excited to see my hubby tonight!!
...that I am still in shock from Tuesday's Glee episode.
...to watch "Whip It" like it's going out of style.

25 Random Things About Me

1. I memorize numbers relatively easily. I still remember my phone number (and my best friends) from when I was 12. I also know my old bank account and routing numbers.

2. I watch certain movies all the time, then hit a wall and don't want to watch it for awhile.

3. When I was a pre-teen/teen I wanted to be a singer/songwriter so much. Aw heck. I still want to but feel like I've missed the cutoff age. lol

4. I learned to read when I was four. Thanks Mom!

5. Being in a car for long periods always makes me fall asleep. Think over one hour.

6. I have PCOS. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

7. The first (and probably only) complete song I learned to play on the piano was "Lost In Your Eyes" by Debbie Gibson.

8. Speaking of 80's pop sensations: I had a massive, massive obsession with New Kids on the Block.

9. I am an only child.

10. As a kid if you gave me a choice between ice skating or roller skating I would have picked the first choice. Everytime.

11. Procrastination and I are best buds.

12. I've been known to let laundry sit in the dryer forever. Well, not forever but you get the idea.

13. I still wish I could watch re-runs of 7th Heaven. Loved that show.

14. I am debating watching Melrose Place on Netflix.

15. It's very hard for me to make up my mind most of the time. I question myself with everything.

16. Sewing is something I've always wanted to learn to do.

17. I typically do not like reality tv unless it is about cooking.

18. I didn't start driving until I was 18. I did not want to either. Ask my Mom.

19. My dad passed away when I was 24.

20. I love guacamole.

21. I also love wine, but a margarita would be my ideal adult beverage.

22. When I am taking a shower I feel the need to keep looking outside the shower curtain as if there might be a serial killer on the other side.

23. I paint my nails at least once a week, when not moving, and this habit has only developed over the last year.

24. I love musicals and 80's movies.

25. I don't typically curse more than saying dammit. Typically. ;)

Things On My Mind

For some reason I cannot gather my thoughts into coherent paragraphs so please pardon me and accept this list instead. ;)

• My tooth is killing me. My filling (a large part of my tooth) fell out a while back and I haven't been able to get it fixed. It is starting to really bother me. Ouch.

• Still packing. I am to the point of wondering where to put some of this miscellaneous stuff.

• I have awesome friends/family. Each day this week I have offers for someone to take Abby somewhere to give me more time to pack. Sweetness.

• The hubby comes home on Thursday. Counting the days. Counting, I tell ya. This past month has seemed like forever.

• Had my last MOPS meeting at our church today. It was hard to say goodbye.

• Doing laundry like it's gong out of style. Ugh. I'm so done. (Not really though. Bummer.)
