Trip to the Zoo

We had a blast at the zoo Wednesday. A blast I tell you. We went with my cousin's wife whom I love to pieces. On this visit Abby did two things that were brand new for her.

#1: She rode the carousel. Now, that in itself is not new. But, she rode on something other than the bench! One time when she was smaller she rode on an animal that moved up and down and she practically climbed down my shirt because she was so scared. This time she sat up on that animal next to her cousins smiling and laughing the whole time. She even did it 3-4 times. It was awesome!

#2: She petted the Stingrays. I had tried to get her to before and she never would. She had a blast and got soaked while doing so. Even I touched them and that is highly new for me as well. ;)

We also rode the safari "train" which is always fun. Doesn't she have a cheesy smile here? It made me giggle.

"It's OK" Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK...

...to still have so much to pack.

...to crave coffee when I walk down the coffee/tea aisle at the store.

...to be so appreciate of my friends whether online or in real life for their support and help.

...that I still need a more clothes for me so I can deal with the cold when we move.

...to walk a fine line between packing and seeing my friends & family. Both HAVE to be done. ;)

...that dishes are not a priority right now.

...that I want to buy more TJ's Candy Cane tea. Boo. (They don't carry it year-round.)

...cry a little because we miss the man in our life.

FVC: Love My Family

Valentine’s Day Challenge

9. Love My Family (pictures, traditions, quirks) Thursday February 9th

If I included photos of all my family then we would be here all day. So, instead, I will post some of my fave pics that were easily accessible. ;) lol

Mike, Tom, Marty (my brother in laws) and Thomas (hubby)

My Mom and I. This may not be the best photo but it is one I adore.
It is sweet and the goofiness in it really shows our relationship.

My father in law and mother in law.

My Memere. (Miss you Memere.)

Lots of my cousins and me (in the blue dress in the front middle).

Abby and my hubby

Abby and two of her cousins.

Abby helping her Pepere water the flowers. She loves this.

FVC: Love Myself

Valentine’s Day Challenge

Love Myself (favorite feature, best quality, best personality trait anything) Wednesday February 8th

It's so easy, as a woman, to overlook my good traits and see only the negative ones.
This needs to stop. That's not to say that we should go to the other end of the spectrum and think we are freakin perfect but I digress. I am a child of God and I am made in His image which is something I should be proud of. Something I love about myself is my compassion for others. It really bothers me when someone is hurting. Often times I have thought this was a negative trait but I have been seeing lately that it's not. Compassion means I hurt when others hurt, true, but it means sharing someone's emotions bad and good. Being there for people when they need someone. I wouldn't trade that for the world.

As far as my features, I have been known to hate my body. To use so many harsh words. Fat. Wrinkled. Saggy. Ugly. All this hate I have perpetuated toward myself makes me sad. Enough is enough.
With that vent out I have to say I love my eyes.
My eyes remind me of my Dad. One of the few positive memories I can think of him sometimes.
They are warm and brown. Yes, it's true they have more wrinkles around them than they used to but I don't care. And, you shouldn't either. ;)

What do you love about yourself?

Blog Changes?

I'm thinking about switching my blog to Wordpress. Lots of bloggers are making the switch. Some of the appeal is the fact that I would own my content. No worries about Blogger bugs. However. There is an issue. I would need a domain. The problem? jewelybug is taken. Boo. So, I am torn. I've thought about a name change for a while as well. But to what? Not sure.
That's where you come in. You can help name this blog. Input please!
